Eva Palovicova is currently enjoying her remaining few weeks of work relocation in Norway. She relocated to Oslo from Banska Bystrica in January to work with Fluido’s Norwegian team on local customer projects.
The idea came from Eva herself as she wanted to gain some work experience abroad: “Earlier I had no courage to work outside of Slovakia but with Fluido there was a great opportunity to work in a Nordic country. Fluido had a need for a developer in the Oslo office and after getting approval from my manager it was settled!” Eva describes the process that led her to work in Norway.
While in Norway, she has made herself acquainted with a popular Nordic hobby – skiing. “I like sports and I already knew that Norway is a cross-country skiing country so while I was here I bought skis and tried skiing. I like it!“ she says. Eva also has another, a bit speedier hobby: “I do motorcycle racing!” she laughs. Combining this with work takes a bit effort as the rookie races are usually on working days so she sometimes needs to have a day off. Flexible working times also help with combining work and free time.
Eva started working at Bitlayer, a company that Fluido acquired in August 2014, about a year ago. Eva has enjoyed her time at Fluido and describes the ‘Fluido Feeling’ really important to her. “What I really like is the friendly atmosphere. Colleagues are more like friends than just co-workers, and I can't wait to play hockeyball with our Slovak colleagues,” Eva says and adds that she also appreciates the openness and informality of the company.
At Fluido Eva works as a Developer. She accomplished her Bachelor's degree in Computer science at Comenius University in Bratislava and after that she proceeded to have her Master's degree in Applied Computer Science at Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica. During her studies she had a part-time job as web developer and gained experience in HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. After Eva graduated she started her own company but after some months realized she preferred to work as a part of a bigger team. She started looking for work and then found Bitlayer.
