Fluido's Application Developer Finn Arild Aasheim certainly loves music. “When I was young I was going to be a rock star!” he says and laughs. Now he is fulfilling that dream with two solo albums published and third one underway all the while working passionately with Salesforce’s cloud solutions.
Finn Arild started working at Fluido in September 2012. He was the first one to the new Oslo office so besides Salesforce related work he needed to order all the office furniture and supplies. He didn't mind though and as the company has grown Finn Arild has gotten more colleagues in Norway and is happy at his work at Fluido.
Besides the social relationships Finn Arild appreciates learning from other like-minded people. “I have learned so much by working with other Salesforce people at Fluido. Coming from an environment where I was the only Salesforce specialist it is great to have colleagues to turn to when you are stuck for something,” he says.
It was the Norwegian railways that brought Finn Arild working in the ICT sector. When Finn Arild was younger he worked shifts in the Norwegian railways shunting trains while recording and gigging with his former band. Unfortunately the band really never quite made it so Finn Arild had to consider an alternative career path. “Being a computer geek since computers first appeared on the scene I always knew that it would be an optional path for me,” he reminisces. While studying in the evenings Finn Arild worked his way up in the railway company by doing user support and solutions.
After quitting the railroads and working on his own consultancy a couple of years Finn Arild was hired by Trolltech as a webmaster/internal systems admin. In 2005 the company got Salesforce as a CRM and Finn Arild soon got to know the system really well and was sent to the Salesforce developer training in London. “By the time Nokia bought Trolltech in 2008 we were using Salesforce for not only CRM but also for user support (now known as Service Cloud), software distribution and marketing (now known as Marketing Cloud),” Finn Arild describes. This breadth of knowledge of the system formed a good foundation for working at a Salesforce consultancy like Fluido. "Fluido is a great place to work!" Finn Arild states.
Currently, Finn Arild is working on interesting Salesforce projects and also on his third album Anthropology. When asked what the future holds for him, Finn Arild smiles and says: “My career path has taken many turns, and I never knew beforehand what lays around the next bend. Rather than being a long-term planner I am a grabber of opportunities, though I know I’ll probably be working less as a lone-ranger and more on team building in the future and hopefully will also get to do some cool concerts.” Certainly his colleagues will be the first to attend.
